Craft Workshops

Assorted Arts teaches a variety of crafting workshops in the triangle, primarily at the Scrap Exchange.

Scrap to Serenity: Transform surplus materials and scraps into works of art! Spend a peaceful afternoon sorting colors and assembling materials into gradient wall hangings. This meditative process combines creativity with mindfulness as you give new life to overlooked items. All supplies are provided—just bring your imagination and enjoy the soothing rhythm of crafting in community.

Scrap to Serenity, Christmas Edition: Spend a peaceful afternoon sorting colors and assembling materials into Christmas ornaments or decorations. This special Scrap to Serenity: Christmas Edition class offers a calm, creative way to welcome the season or relax from holiday stress.

Make Your Own Lafufu: Craft your very own Lafufu—a quirky, Labubu-inspired doll—using reused and repurposed materials. No two creatures will be alike, making your Lafufu a one-of-a-kind character to treasure or gift.

Spooky Painting Upcycling: Transform forgotten thrift store art into chilling Halloween décor! In this workshop, you’ll choose from a selection of thrifted paintings and learn creative techniques to give them a one-of-a-kind twist, perfect for adding scrappy, spooky charm to your home.

Tarot for Pleasure Collage Party: Join Anticapitalist Crafts for an evening of creativity, intuition, and self-discovery. You’ll create your own personalized deck box using collage techniques and reclaimed materials from The Scrap Exchange, and be introduced to the basics of intuitive tarot reading (a practice that emphasizes personal connection and storytelling over memorization.) We provide all materials needed, plus a copy of Tarot for Pleasure and our intuitive tarot zine. Whether you’re new to tarot or a seasoned reader looking to reconnect with your intuition, this workshop offers a welcoming, creative space to make something beautiful and uniquely your own.

Sewing Basics: Make Your Own Pride Flag: Celebrate your creativity and pride by making your own pride flag! Using surplus fabric and upholstery materials, participants will design and assemble a unique pride flag. Choose your level of involvement: focus on assembly or take it a step further and sew your flag.

Sewing Basics: Make Your Own Cloth Napkins: Learn the basics of using a sewing machine to create a set of 4 cloth napkins. The perfect sustainable gift for the holidays!
